March review!!!

To say March was a profitable month would be an understatement!! I absolutely cleaned up!! Let me start with...

Pokerstars,
Ended the month up $970 bucks...couldn't quite get to 1k. I started playing sngs again about a week and a half ago and ended up +200. According to my poker tracker, i won $1197 in cash games this month ($165 of it from heads up...this number should be much higher, but i got 2 outed when we were all in today for a $60 pot). You're probably asking yourself "wait a second, that doesnt add up"...oh yes it does...DONKAMENTS!! Once again, they bring me down this month. Actually, i had a nice 79% roi for a $180 profit playing omaha8 donkaments, which makes it even worse for hold em!! I had a strong -63 roi there...oh well, it'll turn around...i hope! Pokerstars owes me a BIG score in the future, i can feel it!! Lastly, i've spent quite a bit playing the WSOP steps (maybe like $150-200), so that also accounts for some money spent. On the positve side though, i have 2 step 4's (valued at $215 each) 2 step 3's and a couple 2's and 1's. All in all a very good month on good ol pokerstars....except for the fact that i run like #$%* in 2-4, 3-6 omaha8 cash games (where i def lost money this month...not sure on the figure though).

KILLED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! on march 1st, my account was at $1050...today, its sitting at $3135!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Other then the $250 for the 2nd place the other night...this is just gridning cash HARDCORE!!!!!!!!! Ive been 8 tabling .25-.50 cash and really been crushing it!! I think the main reason for this huge jump is the volume ive been putting in this month. Becuz my foot is broken, i'm still not working, so i've literally been sitting around ALL DAY with nothing to do. I'm not sure how many hands i played on fulltilt this month since i just set up my pokertracker to work for fulltilt, but i was literally playing almost 2000 hands a day (minus the week i spent with my g/f). So yeah, the rakeback i get on fulltilt too has been HUGE!!!! Its actually the reason i started playing there so much this month. I figured i could get at least $200 a month strictly from rakeback, which is a nice bonus! Also, being able to 8 table has been huge too!! I play a much tighter game 8 tabling, so its some pretty abc poker, but thats really all it takes to beat the micro limits. I LOVE YOU FULLTILT lol

Ok, so for all of you who struggle in math, the grand total this month was $3055!!!! Looking back, it seems sureal that i made this much money while NOT working month...unfortuntely, it looks like ill be going back to work in the next few days, so the 3000 hand days, with a bunch of sngs mixed in are gonzo :( So, i'm not expecting another 3k month for April, BUT, i think me bascially giving up on multi tables can only do wonders for my bankroll. Its kind of depressing not really playing multi tables much anymore, becuz that big score isn't a possibility playing cash games, but for now, i'm happy just grinding away on my leather ass lol

Alright, thats it for now...my parents are coming to town this weekend, so i'm probably not gonna be playing much from friday-sunday...

ps Has anyone seen the Joe Hachem pokerstars commercial??? why in the world is he playing basketball when it looks like he's literally taking his 1st EVER shot in the game??? He has an uglier shot then a 3 yr girl (no offense to anyone out there), but Jesus, couldnt he be playing rugby or something where he doesnt look quite as bad???????

2 final tables!

So i decieded to make yesterday a tournament day...kind of, and take a break from grinding cash games. I Played 3 omaha8 tournies, and 1 hold em plus the 100k freeroll on stars ( this is a far cry from back in the day when i was playing 10 plus tournies on the regular). Ended up coming in like 250th or so in the 100k freeroll for 80 bucks, which was nice seeing as i NEVER cash in that thing. Of course, i got 3 outed for a mosnter stack with about 500 left, then ran my AK into a sweet setup hand...5 guys all in...AK, JJ, 1010, 99, and of course, AA( yes this was pretty late seeing as over 3000 people started)...the aces held and busted me. Then there was the $5 rebuy omaha8 on stars...get to the final table 6/9, and im feeling great. 1st place gets $1400...i busted in 8th when some %$*&$%# moron limp, pushed my raise with AKJ8...i pretty much had the dream hand vs him...AAJ2...if this held, i'd be in 2nd and looking PRETTY!! of course, he hits a garbage 2 pair, and there was no low out there, so i busted in 8th for like $150...nearly 24 hours later, i'm still sick!!

While this was going on, i was working my way to the final table of the $10 plo8 on fulltilt...i get to the final table like 7/9 and blah blah blah, i make it to heads up with the WORST PLAYER EVER!!!!!!!!!!! I had been ripping him apart from like 3 tables down, and here i was, heads up with him, with a small chip lead...2 hands in, we got it all in, i had AQ25 he had like KKQ8...the gods were with him, and he F ing scooped, and i really never recovered. Heads up, i dont think i saw a single hand that was even playable in a fullring game, so he pretty much ran me over after the big all in. I took down like $240 for the 2nd. I was disappointed right after it happened, but i literally NEVER play heads up PLO8, so i was a bit out of my element, i may need to work on it a bit in the future! Overall, a very good donkament day, eventhough i still hate them, and am rarely playing them these days.

So i live in a sweet neighborhood where the delivery guy for food got robbed at gunpoint right outside my house lastnight!!!! So he came back to the house after it happened telling us to call the cops. I felt bad for him becuz his english was so bad, that he was having a tough time explaing what happened, and describing the suspects when the cops showed up. Anyway, not sure if they found the 2 thugs, im sure they didnt, but its gonna be a bit unsettling walking outside the house at night for now.

Quick update

Just a quickie today....managed to lose a $250 pot when i ran into set over set with my 88 vs AA on a very dry A 8 4 board..this is the 2nd time this exact thing has happened to me in 3 days and both times i'm kicking myself becuz i think i should've been able to get away from it, but i know deep down how hard that is to lay down...virtually impossible...he probably would've played AK or AQ the same way...as well as A8 A4 and 44...so whateevr...AND THEN, in pokerstars non stop goal to bust me, i lost $100 when my KK couldnt crack 66 all in pre flop...i mean seriously...what r u doing putting all your chips in the pot in a cash game, pre flop with F ing 66????? But guess what???? You cant keep a good man down, and i still grinded out a nice $250 win for the day on stars....up yours %$#&%$!!! lol I've actually been messing around with some heads up cash game lately with pretty good results thus far...i swear there r ppl just GIVING away money playing low limit heads up...i'll post my results at the end of the month.

Lastly, i may have bought the 3 most random items EVER at the store today. I bought a little yogourt cup...a bottle of wine...and a muscle milk protein shake lol...the guy at the counter looked at me like i was insane! Yes this was a strange combonation, but it was all necessary!

Movie review

Saw 2 movies last week, and i wouldn't mind some feedback on what you guys thought of them. 1st off, Vantage Point...i would give this a 10 out of 10!! I couldn't believe how much i liked it!! Going in, i bascially knew what it was about, and i had heard mixed reviews about it. For those who don't know what it is about...the president of the USA is shot and the movie bascially tells a story from 7 ppls perspectives who saw the shooting. The thing about it is, they literally rewind the movie 7 different times right after the shooting, and start from scratch but from another persons perspective. This is where i heard bad reviews about the movie, but i was literally on the edge of my seat almost the entire movie. I'm not really gonna get into it other then that so i don't ruin it for anyone, but i totally recommend this movie!! Its kind of chilling in the end when u realize exactly what has happended, and that this could actually happen, and there are groups probably at this very moment plotting schemes just like this!


The 2nd movie i finally saw was No Country for Old Men....now i believe this won the academy award for best film...and i would have to say this is one of the WORST movies ive ever seen!!!!!!!!! How did this win anything other then dud of the year??? For starters, how the hell can u kill the main character and NOT EVEN SHOW IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I remember when they showed lew ellen (???) dead in the hotel thinking to myself that cant be him, it must be someone else becuz they wouldn't just kill him without showing it...wrong...wrong...yes they would. Are u kidding me?? Really nothing happened in the movie, and i was very lost at multiple points continually asking my g/f what is going on...and her not knowing either. The coup de gras was, i had heard the end of the movie is just SICK!!!! So, eventhough i wasnt loving it during the movie, i couldnt wait for this ending. Well, this is a true story right here. We're at the scene where Tommy Lee Jones is sitting at the table telling his wife about his 2 dreams, and i look over at my g/f and say "ya know, up to this point, i'd really only give this movie a C-, but i know the ending is suppose to be amazing, so i won't judge it yet"...about 4 or 5 seconds later, the credits start rolling, and the movie is over?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait, what about this amazing end i heard about?? INSTANT F-!!! Me and my g/f literally started rewinding the movie thinking the dvd must've skipped, and we missed the big ending..nope...we saw it...again, nothing happens (the theme of the movie)

A quick update in the month...my fulltilt account has more the doubled this month and my pokerstars account is going the other way. Today i lost 2 monster pots with a jack high flush vs king high flush, and a queen high flush vs an ace high flush...both pots we each held 2 of the suit, and i bascially got stacked in both hands...ty pokerstars. I'm also hemoraging in omaha8 lately too...add all this together, and i'm done a bit on stars this month, but fulltilt is more then making up for it. I'm actually starrting to like fulltilt a lot better now...the fact that i get rakeback there is HUGE. I'm really starting to think i may start playing a whole lot more on fulltilt!

By the way...have i mentioned how much i hate hold em tournys???? no???? well i do!! and they are on the ban list once again for the rest of the month....at least on stars.

Ok...seeing as how the ppl have spoken, i guess i'll fill you in on my personal life a little...very little. For starters, my name is no Les Murphy ( you'd be shocked at how many times i get ripped for this being my name at the tables..ppl think its my real name) For those not in the know...its worm from rounders...i think he only says it once or twice in the movie...so you've probably heard it, without knowing it...but that's where the name comes from. Looking back, i wish i could change my screenname becuz i have 101 things id rather make it, but oh well...its les murphy till death now! Now a bit about me and my typical day... I'm in my MID 20's and i work the midnight shift (generally 2300-0700), i wake up around 130 in the afternoon or so...play poker till around 4 30, then goto the gym...come home...make dinner...and usually play some poker until i have to leave for work...this is a very basic outline of my day...i described bascially the ideal day...however, it doesn't go down like this most of the time...things come up, and i have to change up the schedule. As my readers know, my g/f lives in the midwest, and we've been together WAY too long LOL...kidding...she moved there about a year ago, and took our dog too (the greatest dog EVER imo)...hopefully i'll be moving there in the next couple of months as ive been applying for the dream job there since Sept...long process i know...but yeah...thats about all your getting out of the personal life...oh yeah...im a HUGE sports fan and bascially will watch anything from Football to Golf and most stuff inbetween.

The people have spoken

Well, i guess the people have spoken, and it looks like personal life was a clear cut winner, which means i'll dedicate a little more time to my personal life in this blog...but not today lol.

Flew in to see my g/f lastnight and i'm here until Friday...which bascially means, almost no poker this week...today is the only day i can really play becuz shes gone all afternoon, so lets make it a good one!

I think i'm done with hold em tournies again...i think for good this time. Right now, i just can't deal with the beats, i know thats the nature of the game, that eventually things even out, but i'm just sick of it. In the only one i played in on sunday, got it all in pre flop KK vs 1010 gg murph...this was for a monster stack too. Oh well, things have been going really good on the cash game side of things, so i'm gonna stick to that i think for now. Played a few sng's for the 1st time since Feb. 12th...went out on the bubble in 4th both times....my AJ vs KQ and i lost a flip JJ vs AK...i understand thats the nature of these things, but its becoming harder and harder to deal with.

On that note, gotta roll...when i get back home on saturday, i'll post again, but until then, i don't think i'll be able to

So close yet so far

So lastnight i final tabled the 5k guarantee pot limit omaha8 tourny on stars...came into the final table 6/9 and ended up busting in 8th for like $170...i'm still a little sick about it! I think i'm more sick about my bad play on 1 particular handthen anything else...i basically made a raise putting about 40% of my chips in the pot with QQA5...sb called, who had been playing A TON of hands! Flop came 368, and he insta bet the pot putting me all in...my initial plan was i was going with my hand no matter what the flop came, but the more i thought about it, i figured he 100% had the low as of right now, and he could back his way into a high, since all i had was an overpair of QQ...so i decieded to muck after bascially timing down...at the time i wasn't too sick about the fold, but i busted about 5 minutes later and it dawned on me just how bad my fold was! What flop was i looking for with QQA5??? I had an overpair and a decnet low vs a guy who's been VERY active...it was a pretty gross fold looking back..not that i was a big favorite by any stretch, but i'm sure i had either the high or low locked up, and who knows, if a 2 or 4 fall on the turn or river, i may get the low too...$1300 for 1st, and i really felt like it was mine this time...oh well

One hand i actually would like some feedback on (though i'm expecting nothing lol) with 11 left, i was in 4th...i had raised pot pre flop, and guy in 2nd re potted it, essentially putting us both all in if i make the call (we each wouldve had like 25k left in a 100k pot) i mucked becuz i was still sitting very nice at the time, and he didn't seem like the type that would go nuts right on the bubble judging by from how he played...i had AK24...nothing suited though....i know, AK24 is about as good as it gets, but i really htink he wasn't making that huge move unless he held AAxx...yes, i'm still close to a coin flip, but i didn't want to "flip a coin" this close to a huge payday, and i could still fold and be 5/11 and sitting pretty...discuss...

Pokerstars is really making me sick btw...only played in 1 hold em tourny...busted when my 1010 couldnt crack 88 all in pre flop LOL I mean really, how long is this going to go??? I finally got my chat back, and almost lost it again after i busted out of this one...he raised utg, i pushed in the hijack for a pretty big amount...he snap called with his 8's...die pokerstars

i'm actually proud of myself from my cashgame play lastnight....open 4 tables, and within the 1st 30 hands, had my AA cracked by J9 off and 64 off...both called a 4bb raise pre flop (i'm not making this up either!!) Then, about 50 hands later or so i pick up 33 in the sb, button raises, i call and another guy calls...flop come 953 2 clubs...i check, other caller checks, button bets 10...i check raise to 39...other guy smoooooooooooooooooooooooth calls and button folds...turn is a Q...i go all in for like 80 more, he tanks and calls...K of clubs on the river...he has A10 of clubs...ship the $250 pot to the donkey....at this point, i was really on super monkey tilt, stuck about $250 within 30 minutes of sitting down...when all was said and done, i ended the session up about $45 baby!! The tsn turning point came when i called a re raise with 56 of clubs (i rarely go on tilt, but at this point, i was clearly on tilt)...A donkey who had been playing like 85% of his hands raised to 3, and another guy tried to isolate and made it 9...usually this is an insta fold with 56suited, but i figured if i hit, i would get pair...flop came k34...bet ,call , i call...turn 7...bet, call, i go all in, original donkey folds, and other guy calls...he has AA, i win a mosnter...and he proceeds to light me up in the chat box for the next 10 minutes LOL gotta love poker

A8...he's all in with A8????

So, i decieded to make it a very light night on stars seeing as i think my doomswitch is still on, and it was confirmed in the $3 rebuy. So i built up a nice stack, and was crusing right along, when i pick up AJ on the button. Now i had been re raising A LOT of ppl. at this point pre flop and taking down the pot right there. So this guy who had been open raising almost everytime it got folded to him makes it like 5.5x the bb. This bet REEKED (is that how u spell reek?) of wekaness, so i make it like 5000 to go...he insta shoves for like 20k total...usually this is a fold, but i've been trying to go with my gut more latey, and i just KNEW he was weak....so i bascially time down, make the call (putting him on something like 77-1010)...he calls..turns over A8 and proceeds to hit his 8 on the flop...gg murph...this would've been for like a top 20 stack.

On the plus side, i came in 11th in the $15 10pm tourny with like 650 runners. Seeing as i was 119/120 at one point, i was happy with the result. HOWEVER, the hand that busted me stung...i was like 7/11 at this point with only like 9bb's...there were a few really short stacks. Folds to me on the button, i have K9s so i push (NOBODY had been calling ANY shoves becuz i think everyone wanted to make the final table). The sb who is the big stacks pushes all in...FUCK!!!...now i'm praying for him to have like 1010 or something where i'm still semi live..he turns over Q10 of the same suit as me!!!!!!!!!!! SWEET!!!!!! Q on the turn..gg murph! Oh well, i was a bit salty, but whatever, it was good for like $115

I don't want to Jinx anything, but i'm on pace for a MASSIVE month by the way. I've been on fire on fulltilt, and am sort of close to doubling my fulltilt bankroll in the 1st week of march!!!! Cashed in the daily double again lastnight for an extra $45 but flamed early in the money in both tournies. But i've been playing about 600-700 hands of cash on fulltilt everyday this month, so between the rakeback, and the $200 bonus i'm trying to get, fulltilt has been berry berry good to me. I'm sure i'll lose about $200 now today lol

I'll start this post by pleading with pokerstars...is my doomswitch permanantly on or is this just a temporary thing?? Will you guys flick it off when i get my chat back?? Is this my punishment?? Slap gross beats on him AND he can't even say anything about it since his chat is gone?? I don't get it...i've realized after yesterday, that i'm not running bad in multi tables, i'm running DISGUSTINGLY bad at jokerstars. Had a pretty "sick" day at fulltilt yesterday as i was down to the final 2 tables in 3 seperate tournies all at once around 1am lastnight...finla tabled none of them though :( Busted in like 16th in the $3 rebuy, busted in 18th in on of the daily doubles and busted in 11th in the $26 horse tourny....the cashes were good for about $220 bucks, but it could've been so much better. I actually cashed in both daily double events for an extra $53, so that was very nice! Had a chance to bust Lee Watkinson too...i left him with 2bb's in the stud hand near the end. I could feel the t-shirt on my back lol. Oh yeah, earlier in the day, i final tabled an omaha8 table...busted in 9th though blah!!

Anyway, it was nice to make a few deep runs yesterday, and eventhough i didn't final table any of them, it felt good to be back. I planned on logging a nice cash session after i busted out of all the tournies lastnight, but i was just too exhausted, so i just sat at 1 table and caught up on some 2+2 stuff...made a cool $50 though, so i was happy

I almost forgot...this wouldn't be my blog if i didn't have a bad beat story in there...So i'm in the stars $27.50 8pm buy in....have a huge stack an hour in...turn the STONE COLD NUTS with my A6 of clubs on a Jc10c8c2h board...i bet out...other big stack makes huge overbet all in LOL..(thank you very much sir, u just made this hand easy for me) i snap call..he turns over J10...3 on the river.....yeah right...of course, J on the river...he's now the chip leader, and i have 1 bb left...ty stars you %$*&#$# pieces of %$*#

BROKEN!!!!!

So, i'm an absolute MORON and broke my foot on saturday...pretty sweet!! I'd rather not say how i broke it since it's pretty retarted, but most of you know anyway, so yeah...guess that means no work for the next little while whooooo hooooooo lol...in all seriousness, this really sucks though. One of the good things about this is that it gives me all the time in the world to goto AC, which i'm 95% sure i'll be doing later this week, or this weekend (hell, i need to make money somehow while i'm not working right!).

I made my "triumphant" return to donkaments lastnight and managed to bust out of my 1st 3 tournies on stars with AA vs J10 all in pre...AK vs KQ all in pre and A10 vs 78off all in pre...it was pretty comical and i just laughed them off, but deep down, they hurt...one was for a MASSIVE stack in the $10 1 rebuy 1 addon like 3 hours in! Stars was a complete bust other then the fact that i final tabled the $10 horse tourny again...came in crippled and busted in 7th but it was still good for about $100 which covered the buy ins for the other bust outs. Funny hand...stud8...i pick up rolled up 4's...4th street and 5th street are AA LOL...oh wait...it got 4 bet everystreet...i lost!!! One guy had QQ in the hole...5th street gave him a 3rd queen...and he the last 2 aces in the deck on 6th and 7th street to take the high from me...it was pretty gross.

Had a pretty good day on fulltilt though. Won about $80 in cash games, and satalited my way into the 50/50 and cashed in that too for about $85. Went completely card dead the last hour in that tourny though and that was pretty frusterating!!

So yeah..looks like i'll be grinding a whole lot for the next while since i'm bascially stuck at home with a boot on my foot......next time you think you're running bad, just fire up this video...WARNING WARNING WARNING...very graphic and gruesome...not suitable for the faint of heart...seriously
